Welcome to Lake View Taxidermy!I first started in taxidermy when I was about 8 years old, learning the art of taxidermy through a mail course. Art courses in school always meant that I had the chance to draw, paint and sculpture animals, which were the majority of my art projects. I eventually went to taxidermy school and graduated from Dan Rinehart's school of Taxidermy. After graduating, I worked under another well known taxidermist in the area for a year and a half, learning all aspects of the business. Lake View Taxidermy LLC officially opened in 2004 for business. My wife Tracy helps me out in the shop in many ways. By adding the final touches to the mounts with the proper habitat, she literally brings the mount back to life in the eye of the beholder. My focus has been on large game animals, specializing on whitetail deer. I will also mount most of the larger small game. I am very "picky" with my work and pay very close attention to details on all levels. My emphasis is not on quantity, but quality. Please remember, quality work begins with you and proper field care of the animal. This finished product will be a work of art that we will both be proud of. I've won blue ribbons at the Wisconsin Deer Classic with entries in the commercial deer and bear divisions and also earned the recognition of my peers.
In 1997, I started a whitetail deer farm, which now includes elk. My love of animals has taken me many places, but my farm has been an inspiration and taken me to a higher level of taxidermy. By having the live animals on hand for reference, I have the opportunity to capture every detail of their existence to help me produce a more realistic mount, which benefits my clients.
